The Sony CyberShot DSC-F717 comes equipped with a top-quality
Zeiss lens and a 5x optical zoom, both of which set it apart from many
of the other 5-megapixel cameras.
Specifications
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.02 megapixels (effective), Carl Zeiss lens, 5x optical
zoom/2x digital zoom, auto and manual focus, program and manual exposure,
JPEG and TIFF file formats, ISO range 100-800, Sony InfoLithium battery,
movie mode with sound.
Extras
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 32MB Memory Stick included with the Sony F717 can
only store 12 images at the camera's highest JPEG resolution. We strongly
recommend purchasing at least a 64MB Memory Stick, allowing the storage
of approximately 24 best-quality JPEG images.
Reviews
Review 1
Good Points:
Fantastic lens quality.
Bad Points:
The lens would have been even more fantastic if 35 equivalant was 28-140
(provided Sony wants to keep the 5X ratio).
General Comments:
Have not read any reviews for the Sony DSC-F717 on review centre but
elsewhere all agree on high quality lens.
Review 2
Good Points:
Small and light camera with good software and also Sony memory stick
which is the best around.
Bad Points:
The lens is not professional. Not good for photographers.
General Comments:
For this amount of money, it's the best choice. It works regularly with
Windows XP too (As you know, many digital cameras have problems with
XP).
